Neal Foster
Tom Gates production with the fabulous Liz Pichon. The design of this production was a collaboration with Liz who took the story and wrote the adaptation with Neal Foster. With video by Simon Wainwright (Imitating the Dog), we were able to explore the graphic world of Liz's illustrations and bring them to life. The set used a series of moving blinds which Simon mapped the video to and which then allowed us to move from scene to scene, sometimes using two projectors and the full depth of the stage. Liz's drawings were animated and the scenes were drawn by Liz, Simon and myself. Music by Marc Flannery.
