The Borrowers

The Birmingham Stage Company

An interesting show to design for playing with scale, when we are in the home of the Borrowers, under the floorboards the humans above needed to be giant. The story mostly takes place in the scale of the Borrowers so the set was made out of domestic things which would be tiny to us such as pins for knitting needles, cotton reel seats. Flowers in the garden were huge and perspective was used to create the illusion of height for the grandfather clock and the bed.
