Shipwrecked and washed up on an island. Kensuke is a Japanese man who inhabits the island along with his orang-utan friends. The challenge for the set design was to move swiftly between the boat and the island. The boat is suggested mostly by the mast and the cabin shape. It splits apart and the interior made up of a bamboo structure giving the set height and places to explore within.
