FIREWORK - MAKER'S DAUGHTER

Philip Pullman's fantasy tale of a girl on a quest to become an expert firework maker like her father. Set in the East somewhere but nowhere specific I drew on influences from China, India and Japan for costumes and set. A challenge to realise Hamlet the elephant onstage as well as the tiger, crocodile, Lady for the Lake and Firefiend. Use of puppets and silks to create the animals, mountains, forest and lake. Lighting by Jason Taylor created our firework display.
